New Release – Hot Mess by R. Linda

Title: Hot Mess
Series: Messy Love #1
Author: R. Linda
Genre: Romantic Comedy
Release Date: May 27, 2019
Blurb
There’s always that one girl who has all these dreams, yet she can’t reach them because she’s constantly tripping over her own two feet.
That’s me. I’m that girl. The unorganized, chaotic, hot mess.
I’m the struggling artist who refuses to give up my love for pizza just because society constantly shoves thin, perfectly toned bodies in my face saying that’s what women are supposed to look like.
Oh, and I’m filthy rich. On paper anyway. I can’t touch my trust fund just yet, so to get those nasty debt-collectors off my back I rent out the snazzy mansion my parents left me.
Of course it has to be Tate Montgomery who moves in—the super sexy celebrity with three million, five hundred and twenty-six followers on Instagram. And of course I have to be the paint-covered walking disaster who falls for said famous tenant.
The problem? Tate and I, we’re not compatible…at all. He’s arrogant. I’m stubborn. It’s a train wreck waiting to happen.
Yet, I end up kissing him anyway.
Told you I was a mess.

Catriona Masterton’s fiancé, Ethan, is Normal.

He plans trips six months in advance and arrives at the airport a minimum of three hours early. He purchases life insurance, luggage insurance, and always opts for the extended warranty. He’s responsible, reliable, and would make any woman a wonderful life partner.

In other words, he’s the exact opposite of the Masterton clan.

Cat’s mother has a kitchen gadget fetish, a father whose best friends are taxidermied field mice, and a super stoner man-child brother who lives–where else?–in the basement. Then there’s Nan, her proud Scottish grandmother with a proclivity for profanity and mischief.

What on earth will Catriona’s Normal fiancé think when he comes home with her to meet her parents? What will he think when he discovers his soon-to-be in-laws invited Cat’s ex to join them for Thanksgiving dinner?

Find out in a laugh-out-loud journey of self-discovery, familial pandemonium, and love. A must read for fans of a true romantic comedy!

REVIEW

☆☆☆☆☆ 5 HUGE STARS ☆☆☆☆☆

This is the first book I’ve read that was written by Whitney Dineen and she knocked my socks off with the well written story, amazing and relatable characters and events within the book and I literally laughed out loud through the entire book!

Everyone say’s that their family is crazy and this book reminded me of when I took my soon to be husband home for the first time and how I saw them through my future families eyes and how crazy and awkward some of the moments were, this book gave my real family a run for their money.

I loved it from the first page and am starting on the next book in the series as soon as I finish this review.

and Christina Lauren!

charming (or is that charmingly annoying?) Dylan Griffin comes to her with an
unconventional new job, Poppy discovers that three little words can add up to

Release Boost – Fluffy by Julia Kent

Title: Fluffy
Author: Julia Kent
Genre: Romantic Comedy/Contemporary Romance
Release Date: April 30, 2019
Blurb
An all-new STANDALONE from New York Times bestselling author Julia Kent

It all started with the wrong Help Wanted ad. Of course it did.

I’m a professional fluffer. It’s NOT what you think. I stage homes for a
living. Real estate agents love me, and my work stands on its own merits.

Sigh. Get your mind out of the gutter. Go ahead. Laugh. I’ll wait.

See? That’s the problem. My career has used the term “fluffer” for
decades. I didn’t even know there was a more… lascivious definition of the
term.

Until it was too late.

The ad for a “professional fluffer” on Craigslist seemed like divine
intervention. My last unemployment check was in the bank. I was desperate. Rent
was due. The ad said cash paid at the end of the day.

The perfect job!

Staging homes means showing your best angle. The same principle applies
in making a certain kind of movie. Turns out a “fluffer” doesn’t arrange
decorative pillows on a couch.

They arrange other soft, round-ish objects.

The job isn’t hard. Er, I mean, it is — it’s about being hard. Or, well…
helping other people to be hard.

Oh, man…

And that’s the other problem. A man. No, not one of the stars on the
movie set. Will Lotham – my high school crush. The owner of the house where
we’re filming. Illegally. In a vacation rental.

By the time the cops show up, what I thought was just a great house
staging gig turned into a nightmare involving pictures of me with a naked star,
Will rescuing me from an arrest, and a humiliating lesson in my own naivete.

My job turned out to be so much harder than I expected. But you know
what’s easier than I ever imagined?

Having all my dreams come true.

“I can’t
tonight. I have a date,” I blurt out, remembering David. The dating app. The
asshole who isn’t an asshole.

Yet. I
haven’t met him, so that judgment remains withheld.

“A date?”
Will asks, intrigued.

“Yes. A
date. You know, that thing where you go out with someone who has no intention
of really getting to know you and you spend the entire time eating bread that
doesn’t taste as good as your date claims and trying to decide whether to
initiate rescue-text sequences with your mom.”

“That’s
your idea of a date?”

“That is my
actual experience of every date I’ve had since college.”

“You’re
dating the wrong guys.” He holds my gaze for just a little too long. I look
away.

“I have to
keep fishing in the pond if I ever want to catch a different one.”

“If that’s
the way you talk to your dates, I am beginning to understand why they all turn
out so badly.”

“Hey!”

“What?”

“Don’t
accuse me of being a bad date. I’m a great date! I Google the guy in advance
and read his LinkedIn profile. I make sure I don’t wear super-tall heels in
case he lied about his height on his dating profile. I pretend to care about
all his hobbies and don’t reveal that I’m secretly tallying all the
micro-aggressions he’s sending my way during appetizers and wine. And if he
makes it to dessert, well–” I falter.

“You never make
it to dessert, do you?” Will asks, eyebrows up. He drops them quickly, wincing.

“I–well–it’s
not that I don’t. He doesn’t!”

“He ditches
you?”

“No! No!
It’s just that he always has a thing.”

“A thing?”

“A work
emergency. Or a dog with a twisted bowel. Or a grandma in the ER.”

“How many
guys used the twisted-canine-intestine thing?”

“Three.” I
sit down and sag against his teenage desk, elbows sliding forward, fingers deep
in my hair. “I looked it up. There’s an entire subreddit devoted to inventive
ways to get out of a bad date.”

“And yet
here you are.” He leans against the edge of his desk. “Trying again.”

“I’m a
masochist.”

His eyes
gleam. “Maybe you should start your dates with that line. ‘Hi. I’m Mallory
Monahan. I’m a masochist.’ You’d definitely make it to dessert.”

Welcome to Mayhem, Minnesota, home of the Knitty Kitty,
The Little Slice of Heaven Pie Shop, and O’Halloran’s Pub—owned by the four

messy T-shirt.

It’s been a decade since Scott Clarke left his family and
his hometown, never to return. But when tragedy strikes, he finds himself

“What? Do I
look that bad?” he asks.

“No, you
look fine. Fine. Yes. Nope, you’re good. Good, good…I was just…” I scramble for
some reasonable excuse to be staring at him. “I—It’s just that I couldn’t help
but notice your tattoo.”

Yes! Brilliant save, Jameson!

“Oh, you
know, I forget it’s even there sometimes,” he says, bringing his smooth, broad
chest closer to me so I can get a better look at him. It. At it. The tattoo…

He’s
pointing to the image on his right pectoral muscle, a vibrant orange skull
intricately decorated. It has a bright array of red and pink flowers and small
jewels adorning it.

“They call
this a sugar skull.”

Before I
can help myself, I reach out to touch the colorful picture that takes up a
large section of that side of his chest. I pull away before my fingers make
contact.

“It’s
okay,” he assures me, taking my hand and pulling it to his chest. “You can
touch it.”

I keep my
hand there for a beat longer than I should before reluctantly extricating
myself. “Well, I…uh…I think it’s beautiful.” I glance down at my watch.
“Oh! I’ve got to get the chicken in the oven.”

I start to
turn toward the other naked flesh in the room.

“So…a
toothbrush?”

“Of course!
Sorry, yes, I, uh, I think I saw a sex pack—sorry, six pack. There’s a six
pack of toothbrushes in the hall closet.”

Holy hell!
What was that? I try to appear
composed, even as I feel the two hot, red spots that are forming on my cheeks.
He chivalrously turns to leave before I’m in full-on beet mode, but not before
I catch a little color on his face, too.

L.E. Rico
didn’t set out to be an author. In fact she’s made a name for herself as a
classical music radio host—doing her best to make the music and the composers
relevant by putting them into a modern context. It was just a few years ago
that she discovered a passion for writing that blossomed into an entire novel.
And then another. And another. And, while she still spends plenty of time on
the radio, telling the stories of the great composers, she spends even more
time composing her own great stories.

BLURB

Two foreign princes, one local girl in a serious jam, and a ’65 Mustang headed for Georgia. What could go wrong?

LEO: My brother likes to think he’s the clever one, and I usually let him. He’s the crown prince, after all. But he’s cocked things up royally this time, pardon the pun. It will take some quick thinking and a heavy dose of luck, but I’ll pull us out of it. Even if it means putting my trust in a stranger … a tempting stranger who carries a wrench and an attitude.

RUBY: I knew before I even agreed that this would be a bad idea. But given my circumstances, I had little choice but to take these rich country-club rejects up on their offer. A ride in exchange for the money my uncle and I owe. How bad could it be? I’m sure I’ll survive and hopefully fix my problems in the process, but my heart might not be so lucky.

Fans of Penny Reid and R.S. Grey will love Between a Rock and a Royal. Grab your copy now and start the sexy, laugh-out-loud Kings of Carolina Series today!

REVIEW

SPOILER – HUGE CLIFF HANGER AT THE END OF BETWEEN A ROCK AND A ROYAL. Since there was a cliff hanger I am combining my reviews into this double feature review.

Between a Rock and a Royal was a getting to know you kind of book feeling the characters out to see where they are coming from or what they are all about and then it ended. I was so happy that I did not have to wait for the next book to come out, I would have given up reading Sylvie Stewart if that was the case. Blue Bloods and Back Roads continued the romance and I would have combined the two with some creative editing so the reader didn’t have the almost breakdown like I did when it just ended with nothing resolved in book 1, Between a Rock and a Royal. I’m so glad I love reading Sylvie Stewart so I continued on and got my HEA.

Check out both books via Kindle unlimited.

Thank you and Happy Reading!
